ANNOUNCEMENT ~NEW PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
City Manager Willie Hopkins Jr. announced the Appointment of Miriam Munoz to the position of Public Information Officer for the City of Barstow. Public Information Officers (PIOs) are the communication coordinators or spokespersons of governmental organizations.
Miriam has over 15 years of Professional Public Relations Management. She moved to the High Desert in 2003 where she worked at the largest Automotive company in the High Desert. Through different positions in sales, and customer relations, she became the first Public Relations Manager in the company. Miriam later went to work for the 33rd District State Assemblymember where she was a Field Representative.
Miriam has served on boards, committees and has volunteered at many non-profits. She is a member of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Information Exchange Committee, a Board Member of the High Desert Marines, a Past Chair for the Barstow Economics Development, a Chair for the Town of Apple Valley Community Development Citizens Advisory Committee, and many more.
Miriam Munoz has lived in the High Desert for over 20 years. Her extensive service and comprehensive experience with building and maintaining a good reputation with organizations and the community is the purest form of media and are anticipating her contribution to the City of Barstow.
