Honoring the Barstow Senior Center

Mayor Paul Anthony Courtney and 1st District Councilman Tim Silva presented a Proclamation to the Barstow Senior Center thanking them for their service to the community which includes a growing number of older Americans who have built resilience and strength over their lives through successes and difficulties.

Mayor Courtney and Councilman Silva reiterated the efforts of the Senior Center and the City of Barstow in jointly fostering communities of strength by creating opportunities to share stories and learn from each other, especially engaging older adults through education, recreation, and service; and encouraging people of all ages to celebrate connections and resilience to our past.

The Barstow City Council recognized the month of April as Older Americans Month and urges every resident to recognize older adults and the people who support them as essential contributors to the strength of our community.
